He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

On The Horizon
Last week’s episode brought you The Sinking of RMS Lusitania - Part 1, from the ship’s design and construction and service up until it was struck by a torpedo from German Submarine U-20. Part 2 is coming Tuesday, September 2. You will hear the of the struggle to survive aboard the helpless vessel, and the political fallout of the sinking. It was a controversial moment in history, coinciding with World War I, sparking fear and mistrust.

Coming soon, the Murder of Kim Wall. True crime and maritime history come together at full steam. Danish entrepreneur Peter Madsen built a private submarine, the UC3 in 2017, and invited journalist Kim Wall on board, to conduct an interview. Kim Wall was never seen alive again, and Madsen was arrested and convicted of her murder. Alfred Dockery of blueridgetruecrime.com joins me as my guest.
Captain Tom Kastle is a singer and folk musician, specializing in maritime songs. His experience as both a mariner and musician come together in a special way. Captain Kastle joins me to discuss his experiences as a mariner, performer, and the history of maritime music and sea shanties.
